Income support is for people who have low income and cannot afford to sustain the
daily household costs. Claimants should be 18 to 60 years old to apply for the Income Support. But, if you're only 16 or 17 years of age, determine first if you can apply for the Income Support.
Unless you're fit to get the
Income Support, you cannot apply until you reach 18 years old. If pregnant or you having a child, you can request for Income Support. You can apply for benefits if you're sick, disabled, or too ill to work. If you're currently attending a particular training, you may apply for the Income Support.
As I explained, not all 16 or 17 years old people are allowed to get Income Support. People under this age bracket and living under the care of their parents are usually not entitled for Income Support. However,
single parents and other disabled individuals who are being taken care of can have the benefits of Income Support. You can request from Citizens Advice Bureau for assistance in case you need to claim the benefits.
